RE: Naked Salad
IMO A salad is not a salad unless you add some form of dressing

My go-to salad (at least 4-5 times a week) is a G-BOMBS salad:

G=greens (romaine or other mixed greens)
B= beans or tofu
O= onions, garlic
M= mushrooms
B= berries
S= seeds or nuts

I saw this on some random PBS show a few months back: apparently, this salad has many of the micronutrients missing in modern diets. Whatever. I started eating it for health reasons, now I just eat it 'cause it's surprisingly filling and tasty.

Depending on the ingredients I choose, I usually add some kind of vinaigrette (mediterranean or balsamic).

This sounds like a great idea! Thumbsup Makes it more of a meal.

But, I don't like the bread bits mixed in - when I make my own, I leave mine out - never been a crouton person. (Never saw the point of crackers in soup, either.)

If not a fattoush, I like a good Caesar salad - Again, hold the croutons.

If no fixings above are available, I'll go with some mixed greens, vinegar & oil, black pepper. I like a raddish for bite & texture... mixed greens usually include something tangy, something bitter, & something a little buttery. Sometimes, I'll toss in some seeds, nuts, and/or berries of some kind.

Pretty basic, I imagine. Shy

Good lord, feta cheese and some good, pungent olives make about anything okay, on my palate. There's just something about it.
