In the morning she was moving about OK. Going in her litter tray, laying in her favourite spot, getting into her bed by the fire, even having a look outside. I had to go off early afternoon and she was back in her bed looking about. When I got home at about 11pm she had died in her bed. Mrs Me was with her, Trixie always did prefer her to me so she had her favourite person with her at the end.

RE: Need to decide whether to kill the cat
I' ve never taken a dying animal to the vet to " put it to sleep".

A 22 to the back of the head - they never see it coming.

Quick and painless as can be for the animal - more painful for me.

That' s OK - I liked them enough to make it as easy as possible for them.

In the long run, I suppose I also make it better for me, knowing I did what I could.

Definitely not for everyone

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad she lived as long as she did and that it sounds like her last day still involved things/people she loved.

I'm so sorry for your loss. At least it seems she passed peacefully, in a warm bed, surrounded by love. I know it's still terribly sad, but at least there's that comfort.

You did good. She lived a long and comfortable life, which is far more than any of us will ever get.
