G'day mate, and welcome to the forums. Smile

Unfortunately(?) neither of us—me a lifelong atheist, and you a devout Catholic—will ever change the other's mind as far as theism or atheism is concerned. And there's really very little point in doing so anyways.

Our viewpoints on the existence of paranormal phenomena and supernatural entities are diametrically opposed for one thing, although as an atheist, I'd hope you'd maybe have at least a modicum of interest in de-converting—rather than expecting it to happen the other way around. As far as the sciences, history, and philosophy goes, the 21st century default is for the non-existence of God and/or gods.

Thanks for linking the YouTube monastic chant, but this particular form of music is—from my point of view—both tedious and its lyrics irrelevant in an enlightened 21st century.

We praise thee, O God: we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.
All the earth doth worship thee: the Father everlasting.
To thee all Angels cry aloud: the Heavens, and all the Powers therein.
To thee Cherubim and Seraphim: continually do cry,
Holy, Holy, Holy: Lord God of Hosts;
Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty: of thy glory.

—Seriously?

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.

Welcome PC. I hope that you find your time here to be informative and entertaining.

Hello, welcome Smile

I'm a lifelong atheist.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Hi life long!

So, do you want to about talk theology or is there something in general or do you have a subject you would love to get your teeth in to?

Most of us are willing to listen to any talk you have to offer. And I'm willing to change my mind when the evidence is presented!
I am not out to be hostile I will be respectful to you as long as you do the same! I will look up anything you have to offer as long as you do the same!
Sorry to say I do not have much music to say I like as I like most of it that papers on the radio but I do not collect any music!

So what would you like to talk about?

Hi, and welcome. I saw your other post. I would suggest skipping the generalizations phase. We've seen hundreds of folks like you come through and start generalizing right off the bat. Those people don't usually last long. If you want to change minds (and you won't, but hey- good luck) then your tactic is not going to work. Listen and learn first.
