Quote:42% of Americans believe in ghosts, only slightly less than the 58% who believe in Hell and the Devil

So what, is there 16% of people who think the Devil and Hell are real, but think ghosts are just a little too far-fetched?

I'm not too horribly surprised. The amount of ignorance in our society in our culture is still staggering, but the trends are encouraging, if only slightly. It causes my cold pessimist heart to thaw a bit to see the trend for younger people to be less likely to be superstitious. The fact that the majority still is doesn't faze me. Sanity is not a matter of numbers and popularity.

There is an article in the current New Yorker magazine about Poop Frankie, written by a staunch catholikkk, that points out that 10% of Americans are EX-catholikkks, making them the second-largest group behind actual declared catholikkks.

Yeah, well we all know what your unsubstantiated "retorts" are worth, now don't we.

A year ago you were predicting the HOARDS that would be breaking down the doors to FLOCK to Veridicanism, so I guess we know what predictions that come from you are worth. The poll in no way demonstrates the rise of spiritualism. You think wishful thinking id reality.

Being "down" to 26% believing in fucking witches in 2013 is probably a good thing.

It's almost depressing that in a scientifically advanced nation like the United States people can believe such ridiculous things at all.

Nobody rules the Internet.

The only exception being possibly Anonymous, but that's not ruling so much as vigilantism mixed with pseudo-prosecution complex based self-defence, sprinkled with a few nerds and a nice creamy yet almost arbitrary DOS centre.

Don't care if the Chinese and US governments think differently.
