What about non homo-sapien species speech?

There is a gene that carries the capability for language, other animals have this HOWEVER humans were thought to be the only ones to have this certain specific kind of this gene.

Recent genome mapping of Neanderthal DNA shows that neanderthals also had the human version of this gene that allows us to have speech.

The fossil evidence shows that a Neanderthal's hyoid bone was in the same position as modern humans, which suggests (apart from the genetic stuff) that they were also able to speak. They are believed to have had higher pitched voices:
