New prehistoric giant salamander fossil discovered.
Fossils of a new type of species called Metoposaurus algarvensis have been in found in Portugal. These creatures being described as long as a small car and had hundreds of razor sharp teeth were very scary predators some 220 million years ago. Below is an artist rendering of what the creatures would have looked like. I would not want to go out to my backyard and find one of those things sitting there.

The BBC had a piece on it also last weekend. I'm always half asleep when the BBC is on. Weeping

That's interesting. There are still large salamanders alive today. Take, for example, the beefy Japanese Giant Salamander.

When we lived in Cali, the boys would flip over rocks and find them all time.

Cute little things.

That said I don't want to see the rock that shit lived under!

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Probably a boulder big enough to squish a person like a bug.
