Tongue Nicknames
I was watching (sort of) one of the morning shows and some woman is helping the Chinese chose better nicknames than "ghost" or "eleven" so she's got a website to help the Chinese choose a better nickname.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/american-ent...s-chinese/

Anyway, when I was a baby my older sister couldn't say the word "sister" yet. It came out as "tister" which later morphed into "titter" . I was known as Titter until I was about 9 and my aunt was calling me in for dinner (I was outside playing) and she yelled Titter, dinner time!...............Oh, Titter!........Oh, Tit!

That was it. We went back to my given name.

Any interesting nicknames out there in TTA land?

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

When I was young my mom called me "punkin'ninny" sometimes. It wasn't really a nickname as much as an endearment. I always wanted a nickname, not sure why but my name is very short (3 letters) so I never had one.

When my daughter became pregnant she asked what I wanted my granny name to be. I said I didn't want nana as it was too common here in Oklahoma. I thought about it, even looked up a list of granny names and finally decided on "Mimi". My daughter loved it. I love it.

The boys use it not just as a name but as a descriptor, "This is my mimi." or when pointing to someone's grandmother, "Is that your mimi?" They love their Mimi so.

It fits. HeartBig GrinHeart

My name is actual;y Deryl Fisher. But back in the days when every truck driver had a CB radio and a handle, and i drove a truck, I started calling myself Der Fish especially since my grandfather was born in Germany and Der Fish means the fish in German. I've used it every since and at present am on a dozen or more forums as Der Fish
