Nishi's Irish Wake
Like I have mentioned many times before on the forum, I'm Irish and in my family we don't have traditional wakes for those who have passed on. We have what is called an "Irish Wake." Instead of mourning someone's death, we have a party celebrating their life.

From Ancestrydotcom: "The traditional Irish Wake was commonplace around Ireland up until about the 1970's. There would be lots of food and plenty of drink to be consumed. People would come and socialise and remember the departed person's life. This wasn't a time for tears to say the least, it was more of a party than a funeral. It was the traditional Irish way of celebrating one's life and ensuring that they had a good send off."

So raise a glass and let's give Nishi the proper send off! If Erik is looking down at us from a woo cloud, I know he would have enjoyed something like this.

I never got to know him much sadly, but I hear he was a great guy. Clap
I'm sure he would want us to be happy.
What we can do now is remember how awesome he was. We can also continue to stick together like the silly family we kind of are.

Here's to you Erik. You could always make me smile. I lurked through many of your posts, just letting you know I appreciated them.

*raises glass*

Erik was the kind of person who would always make me funny threads whenever I was stressed from work/life etc. He always made me laugh without fail. His heart was bigger than all of Denmark. And nobody could rock a Pokemon hat like you, my friend.

I didn't interact with Nishi but he obviously made a huge impression on many here. It's sad that he couldn't see his own worth.

From what I understand, he would have agreed with the sentiment in this...

I didn't know him very well, but I enjoyed reading his posts. It is indeed very sad. I'll be down in the pub later. I'll make sure to have a double Jameson, straight, and raise a glass to the nice guy in the funny hat.

Thanks Marozz, I don't drink so I will be alongside in spirit. Here's to you, Nishi!

I don't think I'll ever look at Pokemon without ever thinking of Erik.

I wanted to add something Neil Degrasse Tyson once said about death. This is paraphrased but he said something to the effect that at death the energy that was once your body is simply rearranged and scattered elsewhere. This is something Nishi would be the first to recognize.
