RE: Noah: The Movie
Noah was supposed to be 600 by the time the flood came:
"In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened." Genesis 7:11

I'm really wondering the audience for this one. I'm predicting that evangelical Christians will hate it because it will need to add so much extra-biblical material to pad out the three short chapters of Genesis to movie length. But I think the producers will still be trying to capture that "Passion of the Christ" audience, so I'm pretty doubtful it will be accessible to people who reject biblical in-errancy. It could go down the classic "10 commandments" route, I guess... but I'm not really seeing a modern audience follow down that path.

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

Next ... FSM ... THE MOVIE Tongue

A man blames his bad childhood on leprechauns. He claims they don't exist, but yet still says without a doubt that they stole all his money and then killed his parents. That's why he became Leprechaun-Man

This is no different than Hollywood making an Epic of Gilgamesh movie. They just went with Noah because it is more well known.

Besides... Noah is like some kind of action hero in this movie it seems. Maximus Decimus Noahidius.

Seriously, I mean c'mon, Genesis has all of the fun wacky shit in it. Russel Crowe as Noah? At the very least it'll be worth a watch to see Crowe chew the hell out of the scenery. Not to mention there is no way they can make this movie and have it please everyone. There will be butt-hurt theists bellyaching on Fox, blogs, and talk radio over this movie and blaming it on the liberal bias of Jewish controlled Hollywood; so that should be fun.

It's mythology folks, I see it no differently than watching Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson going at it as Perseus and Zeus in Clash of the Titans. If anything, it can't be any worse than that 2 hours of torture porn Mel Gibson made... Dodgy

This is mythology.

The thing is though, people actually really believe this mythology nowadays, which makes me more wary of seeming to support it. I don't know of anybody who seriously believes in Zeus.

RE: Noah: The Movie
I pray this movie pisses off the fundies. Yes

That would have been guaranteed if Peter Fucking Jackson produced it. Dodgy
