That is very different from voting for one Commie or another Commie. Or being required to vote.

So choosing between two capitalists that are supported by the same corporate interests is somehow different than choosing between two communists?

Reread what I wrote.

I read what you wrote, you criticized the idea of choosing between two communists yet you didn't criticize the idea of choosing between two capitalists.

The law in China (and other Communist countries) is that the only legal party is the Communist Party.

In the U.S., socialists can, and do, run for office. Your point is not valid.

And just like the capitalist party in the U.S. there are many different variations of types of people, and just like in any other nation including communist countries, there are radical leftist and conservative types.

"running for office" in the U.S. is only symbolic, to actually run for office you need the permission (donations) from corporations. Without this, you can't really run. Don't be dumb and deny that.

I do deny it. I have experience with grassroots campaigns that took no corporate funds.

Your ideology blinds you to reality.

So according to you the fact that the winning politicians being the ones with the most corporate funding is purely a coincidence? Are you fucking serious?

Your ideology blinds you to idiotic beliefs, like in communist countries only one political party exists. Simply not true. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pol...c_of_China

I know what you are thinking......the same thing I am thinking about other parties in the U.S.

Your defeatist attitude is why the corporations do have as much controls as they do. Look at the rise of the teaparty (the beginning of it anyway) and how much effect iut has had. Was that movement converted by billionaires, yes it was but the movement began as grassroots and it wasn't until they actualy made a huge splash that the higher ups even tried to stop them or join them. It is a great example of how to begin a true grassroots movement and the dangers such movements face.

Wiki Wrote:In practice, only one political party, the CPC, holds effective power at the national level. Its dominance is such that China is effectively a single-party state. Eight minor parties also participate in the political system. However, they have limited power on a national level and must accept the "leading role" of the CPC as a condition of being allowed to exist.

Like I said, one party system.

So me and you agree, if a political party in power has mechanisms in place to make sure minor parties never have a chance of really being able to compete then any election is a farce. How would any political party besides the democrats (capitalist) and the republicans(capitalist) have any chance of competing with funds and air time without permission of (donations from capitalists)?

I am glad we agree.
