But either way, they're abstracted ideals. I mean, let me know if you find one in real life, but I won't wait up.

Thanks for easing the confusion -_-

Dah fuq? Really?

countable vs. uncountable infinity

It is one's hold on identity that clouds conception.

So what if we attempt to ponder outside of our identified concepts?

(or am I just farting in the wind here?)

But then there are also different levels of uncountable infinity.
In fact, there are uncountably many uncountable infinities.
Just sayin' .

To truly dwell upon them is futility, methinks. But I do. I find the concept of "nothing" to be just as hard to conceive as "infinity".

Just a musing..... thoughts? Drinking Beverage

Edit: yup, I'm putting this here.

There's no such thing as nothingness. Just accept it.

As far as infinity is concerned, just start counting numbers and let me know when you reach the end. It's just that simple.

On a side note ... I want to eat a monkey.

How can anyone become an atheist when we are all born with no beliefs in the first place? We are atheists because we were born this way.

I agree with this. Well maybe except for the monkey part. No

RE: Nothing vs. Infinity
Infinity can be finite for sure. Consider the numbers between 1 and 2 for instance. You can divide up the difference infinitely many times. However, walking a 1 meter is not impossible. Some things may or may not be infinite (I'm looking at you universe) but that is reaching the limits of our understanding.

If the universe is expanding (especially if it's at the speed of light) there would exist an infinite universe because even light would never reach the "edge". However if it is not expanding or it begins to slow down then the universe would be finite at any given time. But what would happen to a photon of light if it hit the edge of the universe? That's a whole other topic entirely Wink

I agree, that's why I find the concept of nothingness intriguing.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
