OBI-WAN KANOBI
By dictionary, I am defined as an atheist. but I'm a different type,
as I happen to be a strong believer in an afterlife, and nature. I just
don't believe there is a grey-bearded man looking down at me from
above, and i happen to believe "ON" CHRIST, but not "IN" CHRIST.
(There is a difference)

My spritial beliefs can mostly be summed up with OBI-WAN KANOBI'S
words, "LET THE FORCE BE WITH YOU." ( two longwinded posts to
follow. this is just the first shot across the bow)

I am a Naturalist, and an Evolutionist.

I believe in aliens (space aliens) and that they are now around, and
likely have been around since long before modern humans evolved.

I would very much enjoy discussing, the issue with anyone interested

"I don't Debate, I Discuss" I offer my opinions, and listen to yours, I will not require proof of opinions, but I may ask for clarification or state that I reject your position and why, & if asked, I will further clarify mine --- However, I reject any requirement that I PROVE my position is accurate and proper.

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.

So.. this would have you being a 'Deist' then? As opposed to an Non-theist, perhaps?

*Charges main batteries in preparation to reply to shots across their bow.*

So, like m'self, you are happy to like and follow science and such. Giving it more credence than fairy tales?

Okay... so from your above point, what have they been doing all this time? Where are they possibly hiding? How have we not found any traces? Assuming you mean 'Around here on Earth'?

I am all for there being life on other planets other than Earth. Just having life is probably quite common. Where the odds go down is looking for other sentience's. Then..... given the distances of space, interacting with them when they are all the way over there (Where ever there actually is) and we're all the way over here.

Also looking forwards to interacting with yourself. Big Grin

Much cheers to all.

I briefly flirted with deism on the way to being an atheist, but the same questions can be asked of the un-named force as can be asked of the Christian god. They are both concepts that implode by properly applying Ockham's Razor.

Gods derive their power from post-hoc rationalizations. -The Inquisition

Using the supernatural to explain events in your life is a failure of the intellect to comprehend the world around you. -The Inquisition

RE: OBI-WAN KANOBI
Well Doni, the space aliens thing is possible.
As humans we have landed on a comet a mere 2000 years or more after we began to write.

I could envision an intelligent culture on Venus very long ago that had to leave once the greenhouse atmosphere was too overwhelming.

I could even see a dinosaur culture expanding out into space from 65 million years ago, but in all of these things, we have no evidence .

And when we have no evidence , what should we do ?
Answer - Not believe it.

Be one with force. Run into a brick wall as fast as you can.

Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
