In fairness, I may not be one to speak on this, but I totally agree with you. The British extent of cooking, in my opinion is terrible compared to other parts of the world.

I mean it varies from each part of the UK, (if you're ever in Scotland, try a deep fried mars bar), but it tends to consist of Chicken/Turkey, steamed Vegetables, something made of pastry and way too much gravy, all in one sitting. However, I won't hear a bad word about fish and chips.

Comparing our dishes to places like Italy or India, and ours looks like a load of hot garbage. I think historically, most of our food is mostly "take whatever you can afford, and cook something out of it" which has stayed on through tradition.

Black pudding is awesome many countries have blood sausages including France Germany and many eastern European countries its not just a Brit thing. Our food has improved massively since the 60's but we can't seem to shake off the stereotype kinda like the dentistry thing.

Take potoatoes, cut them up, throw them in the deep fryer for 5-6 minutes. Take fish, dredge it in some beer batter, and throw it in a deep fryer for 3-4 minutes. Pour a bottle of malt vinegar over everything. Very impressive. How long did it take you all to come up with that?

I disagree we have some great regional dishes good cheeses, sausages etc, and our food has improved massively since the 60's but you're right nowhere near as good as Italy or France.

375F? We use the metric system (mainly).
