What do you mean by already? That was a provision of Obamacare. There was no 80/20 requirement before the Affordable Care Act.

Yes, it was already regulated at the state level, varying between 70% and 85%. Obamacare just standardized the rate nationwide.

Huh. I did not know that but it looks like only a dozen or so States regulated MLR before the ACA. Maryland was one of them with 60% on the individual market and 75% in the small group market but I never saw a rebate until after the ACA was enacted (it was like $3, doubt it even covered the cost of issuing the check). Wonder if being in FEHB preempts Maryland Law. Probably. ... Consider ... Nah, it's probably more like FEHB sure as hell don't qualify as the individual or small group market.

Breathing - it's more art than science.

RE: "Obamacare"
If people want the federal government to cover stuff, that cash has to come from someplace. That means taxes, and the tax required to cover people with preexisting conditions to get insurance under the Affordable Care Act will cost any person with insurance $63 per year.

RE: "Obamacare"
So what you are saying is that is extremely cost effective to be able to cover the people in society who need the most help?

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

I think it means that if you don't pay for healthcare you will now have to whether you have it or not, and that doctors about to be pretty underpaid.

Amateurs.

You should have nationalised healthcare first. Then you could have demonised it for not working (because of not enough funding) and then began to privatise it to your closest political associates all under the banner of "free" health care at the "Best price vs service".

Just like over here in the UK.

You could have many Serco's Shy

Dodgy

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

My current understanding of Obamacare is:

1. People who don't pay health insurance will be taxed. So people are forced to buy health insurance wherever they can.
2. Government will use taxpayer dollars to subsidized some people in certain conditions.
3. Insurance companies have to spend most of the money on health, and are by law less likely to turn people down when paying out.

Now, my understanding is that this is a major boom for insurance companies. Depending on how shaky #3 is (are there any obvious loopholes?), whether it's government money, or private money, they're getting it. This seems wildly criminal (depending how shaky #3 is), I know i'm missing something here. So help?

You do not know what you are talking about. What you have said is just nonsense.

I am self-employed and my individual plan is affordable and as good as the plans I've had when I was employed and got group coverage.
I have small deductibles, reasonable co-pays, and pre-existing conditions are covered.
