Passed the senate 33-12 and the house 59-9. Is it just me or does that seem really lopsided? The people of OK really elected such overwhelming super majorities of pro-life legislators?

Well, of course.

They're going to vote for those people who are very much opposed to Big Government to ensure that the wrong morals can't be imposed upon individ... ...

No ... wait.

They probably see this as a first beach-head in the fight. Idea will be something like "get the law passed and an official slap down from SCOTUS, other states may follow suit. If we put together a massive enough coordinated effort we can maybe get a whole bunch of states to pass something like this. Then politicians will get their sleazy asses into line to support changing the constitution (or some ridiculous shit) since they'll see the value as a vote buying tool."

Meantime more women will be forced to have unwanted babies while they carry out this stupid scheme.

Skanky Mary vetoed the bill.

She's feeling the heat because they cut our school budget by 36% this year and we're already in the lower 10% for education.

State's rights issues were pretty much settled CA 1865. It's a Federal law, and these yokels are jacking around with women's bodies and rights and wasting precious resources (on an issue that they will lose), that could be spent more wisely elsewhere.

Got into the Facebook thread on this. Had some fun with a Christian who was throwing out his righteous anger. I just started throwing bible verses at him. The more I quote the madder he got.

Was surprised she vetoed it. The senate has "declined comment" on if they will try to override it. Which means they'll do the smart thing and let it die.

And if the OK gov did not veto it, it would have been struck down by a federal court as unconstitutional.

In about 2 seconds. Thumbsup
It was probably a stunt, engineered to get votes in the next election.
