Older Video Games
I didn't a thread for this.. So here goes..

Most of the games I play are older, say 5-10 years old. Such as

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
Empire Earth 1 and 2
Rise of Nations: With Expansion packs
Age of Empires 3: And the add on packs.

What older video games do you play?

Also if anyone knows any RTS games that I am missing.. I would love you for it.. Tongue

RE: Older Video Games
I play Septerra Core and Odium , Disciples 1 and 2.
Also have Deadly Dozen 1 and 2.
Dark Colony is a favorite but it's hard as hell.

One of my most favorite old games has to be Majesty - wish to this day I had modding tools for it Sad

Myth series and Cultures series - great RTS titles - but that's just me.

RE: Older Video Games
My favorite old games, without the obvious "classics":

Maniac Mansion (Nintendo)
Day of the Tentacle (PC sequel to Mansion)
Myth II: Soulblighter (PC)
Final Fantasy 7 ...but that's a given for any gamer (PS1)
Phantasmagoria 2 (PC... I liked it)
Leisure Suit Larry 1-7 (PC)
Warcraft 3 (Zug zug)
Out of This World (1990 PC, the second game I ever played)
Beyond Zork (Text based game, first game I ever played)

They need to make a another one. Yet, there is a 99.9% chance Big Huge Games is not going to make it. Microsoft owns the rights too it and Big Huge Games has a EA contract for an RPG for a long time.

Here's the intro to Myth 2. And you can click on any of the related videos for gameplay.

...and here's a gamespot review I did on it 5 years ago, lol.

And yes, Worms Armageddon was how I spent most of my high school days.

RE: Older Video Games
Myth series was Real Time Tactics more than RTS , since you had a finite number of units and could not replace them.
The idea was to complete an objective , such as reach a point , kill an enemy , ambush an enemy group , defend a camp using the units you had.
Some were well armored , other less , archers had long range , dwarves had short range but their molotovs did HUGE damage and you could record each game - never played it online though.

Hey , BuddyChrist - did you play Myth3 : Wolf Age - the mission where you defend the dwarven capital ? That was an awesome display of gore. Big Grin
