Oldest primate ancestor found in China
The paleontologist Chris Beard originally proposed that the lineage leading to modern anthropoids (monkeys, apes, and humans) first arose in Asia and later migrated to Africa. The scientific community was hesitant to accept this, but his steady finds in China and Myanmar over the last 15 years has caused them to change their positions. He recently announced finding the oldest primate ancestor in China dating to 55 million years ago, when prosimians and anthropoids split.

People interested in this subject should read Chris Beard's Hunt for the Dawn Monkey (2004). I'm reading it now.

Is it possible that humans came from multiple origins?

No, genetics and the fossil record all point to Africa as our place of origin.

That would be less likely than winning a lottery jackpot every day for the rest of your life.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

No, I am subscribed to "Ape" and "Monkey" articles on sciencedaily. I get emails from them as soon as the stories come out.
