Olympics closing ceremony
Anyone else watching it? Particularly enjoyed the inclusion of Imagine and the central construction of John Lennon's face. I'm amused, amongst a sea of all of those national flags, Lennon singing "Imagine there's no countries"... and "no religion too".

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

RE: Olympics closing ceremony
And now Pink Floyd (performed by 1 member and some stand-ins). Did you know that Floyd are unusually popular amongst the youths in Iran?

With the Pet Shop Boys and George Michael performing earlier, I'm wondering how they were received amongst the (few) countries in the world where homosexuality is illegal.

As a long fan of Kate Bush, it was warming to see one of her numbers appear. Would have preferred a live performance, mind.

And now Russell Brand is doing The Beatles.

Jessie j murdered we will rock you. Like utterly destroyed it with that ear rape she calls a voice. That was terrible.

Behold the power of the force!

It was Beady Eye, not Oasis. The Gallagher brothers are refusing to talk to each other. They each think that the other is as big a twat as the rest of us have always thought.

The musical director was after anthemic music that people could sing along to. Wonderwall definitely qualifies for that. I've been in pubs where everyone has stopped to sing along, word for word. And I do mean everyone. It's a bit of a classic... regardless of who wrote/performed it. Dodgy

Hence, the thought 'You've gotta be SHITTING ME!' Big Grin

Ah, ok. Thanks.
I thought maybe it referred to that pic you have as your sig.
Please remove it, it's making be feel nauseous.
