One Year in Texas!!!
So, I'm doing this a teensy bit early, but I couldn't wait. Smile

Tomorrow marks one year since Rev arrived here in Texas!! Hobo So, as a way to kind of celebrate it, I thought it'd be fun to ask him some questions. Give an interview of sorts to the newbie Texan. ^__^

The interview follows below... Shy

EA: What has surprised you the most about living in Texas?
Rev: The political billboards up year-round (anti-abortion and anti internet porn in particular)

EA: What has surprised you the least?
Rev: The traffic
EA: ( there is little to no traffic here Tongue )

EA: In what ways do Texans live up to the stereotypes about them?
Rev: Gun culture

EA: In what ways do they defy them?
Rev: Very impolite as a whole. None of that supposed southern hospitality.

EA: Favorite things about Texas?
Rev: Other than EA? Probably the Weather. The heat is no worse than in MD and the winters are much softer.

EA: Least favorite things about Texas? (oh who am I kidding - everything is great about Texas but go on, humor me)
Rev: Overall the food is rather subpar, a few places are good but not a lot of variety or quality to choose from.
EA: Weeping

EA: Any strange encounters or experiences in the Lone Star State?
Rev: The Crazy gun dealer radio ad. It was like a parody come to life
EA addendum: I tried to find an audio of this but couldn't so I went on their website and was even more disturbed. Hobo

EA: Would you recommend living here? And if so, what advice would you give to someone who did happen to move here?
Rev: Yeah overall it's not a bad spot, least our little corner. As for advice "Don't expect a lot of options in food there are a few good places but outside of those the food here is very 90's little variety and mostly bad."

RE: One Year in Texas!!!
Can't believe it's been a year already.

Loved the questions and answers tho.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Southern hospitality is a southeastern thing. You're in Texas.

Yeah, Texas isn't the South - it's Texas. Dodgy

It is very different from the southeast.

RE: One Year in Texas!!!
Because, you see, when a person from elsewhere in the country says "crazy gun dealer", they're just trying to be descriptive and/or derogatory...

...in Texas, that's what they name themselves.
