One third of all rape alligations not taken serious by UK police

Really shamefull that this is still an issue in a modern European country.

I don't think that's a problem unique to the UK.

RE: One third of all rape alligations not taken serious by UK police
I am not sure if it included a change to law but I know that rape of prostitutes in California is being given more play by police.

Interesting in the video some of the same charges leveled against police in England are echoed in the US. Under reporting certain crimes or changing charges to make the statistics work better. Rather like prosecutors only pursuing the easiest cases to keep their conviction rate up.

Came close to being on a rape trial jury once. The prosecutor asked the whole jury pool if they could convict if the victim was provocatively dressed and accepted a ride with the alleged rapist and then joined him in a motel room. You could certainly see where the defense was expected to go. I found it odd when I was released from duty that the defense had allowed a clear majority of women to be in the jury box, selection was not over but it was close.

In the UK making sure that the figures add up and show the percentage of crimes solved is higher than unsolved, has become a high priority. So much so that some complaints that are not clear cut tend to be " swept under the carpet" so as not to upset the stats. As is shown in the clip, not all forces in the UK are guilty. I'm sure there are similar situations in other European countries.

One obvious explanation is that 1/3 of all Bobbies are rapists. Tongue

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Oh, I know that -- it was just an odd observation.
