Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis
The diversity of life, and all species' ability to obtain food and reproduce never ceases to amaze me, but in some rare cases it can freak me out. Enter: Ophiocordyceps unilateralis.

This fungus can influence the brains of ants to make them grab onto the edge of a leaf, and die. The fungus then grows out of the ant and releases its spores into the air to repeat the process.

It's like nature's version of Evangelists.

I remember reading about this.

Zombie Ants; that is all that can or must be said.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

Oh I think I heard about this fungus on a podcast I listened to. Maybe it was Stuff to Blow Your Mind. It's a good one!

Your analogy to evangelists is new though hahahaha

This is exactly what the government does to control its soldiers. Well, sans fungi, but the same type of virtual mind control with a notion of free will.
