Welcome Smile

Norse Gods? You're into Thor and stuff? They are my clear favourites.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Greek gods, Norse gods, Egyptian gods, witchcraft, voodoo, Native American practices, all of these can be called pagan.

Possibly, anybody who hasn't been baptized might even be considered pagan. According to some Christians, anybody who was not "enlightened" by Christianity was pagan.

My personal path is Norse.

Tkx.
You know (??) the term "pagan" is out of favor these days in academia.
It assumes one deity is better than another.

It does? I did not know that.

Not to be confused with "heathen".

Nor "vegan". Although some pagans are vegans. Wink

Where I live, they probably are. Or at least the vegans are heathen. Lots of hunters around here, plus beef is a rather proud industry in Montana.

So, just to be clear, you believe Thor really exists?

I believe thunderstorms exist. I believe lightning exists. I believe that in my head I personify these thunderstorms. I refer to such personifications as Thor.

More important to me is that I have a reverence for nature and the sun and the changing of the seasons, and these are things to celebrate.

Sounds more Druid than Norse. Is the personification just a useful way of thinking about it or do you believe that there is such an entity? Do heroes go to Valhalla?
