Yes and no. No in that you can never get anything good from legumes and grains, Yes in both have downfalls(but everything does apparently.)

I base everything I add or subtract from my diet based on my postprandial sugars. >160 mg/dl 1 hour postprandial or >120 mg/dl 2 hour postprandial and I don't eat that no more. Pretty simple when you focus on a single metric.
