Paleontology: Pregnant T-Rex fossil found
So they found a T-Rex fossil with the potential, repeat only potential, to have DNA. It has not been tested yet, but they plan to.

Pregnant T-Rex Fossil

Quote:What has been confirmed so far is that the T. rex, which was found in Montana and dates to 68 million years ago, retained medullary bone that reveals the individual was pregnant. Medullary bone is only present in female living dinosaurs, i.e. birds, just before and during egg laying. It's this type of bone that could retain preserved DNA.

I can't wait for the creationist to take this out of context and ruin it.

Yes. The T-Rex hadn't laid the eggs yet. The presence of that type of bone tissue indicates it was in the process of gestating/making/growing/whatever the eggs.

Dinosaurs are cool, but I'm sorry to say my knowledge of them is more akin to Hollywood than Academia. Big Grin

On the subject of Tyrannosaurs, I saw this yesterday:

Dinosaur find resolves T-Rex mystery

An earlier mini-Tyrannosaur about the size of a large dog.

The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike

"It's this type of bone that could retain preserved DNA."

I'd give it one in 68,000,000.

The preacher at my brother's church was telling me that God and the Devil got together and God gave the Devil permission to bury all those fossils to see if people would doubt God because of it. Just as God gave the same Devil permission to kill Job's wife and sons etc...
