We are still in the intro section here... He has posts in the discussion areas too. In the alien and the pope threads.

I haven't lost "hope" -- I lost faith. Two different things.

As for how I "cope with life", I do just fine not looking over my shoulder. Try it sometime, you might like it.

So I would like to know how the atheist spends their time every day. Prior to realizing that there is a God in my life, I found myself addicted to pornography & demeaning women, being angry/stressed all the time, spending my free time buying car parts for hot rods, worrying about physical/emotional pain, etc. Are atheists generally happy with their lives?

You can "firmly believe" anything you want, but that doesn't make it so.

This is the difference between adults and children.

As for happiness in life, that question can fairly be turned around on an equally general basis: are Christians generally happy with their lives? And who are you to speak for Christians?

Well, who is anyone here to speak for atheists?

I know this is an intro thread, but could you shitcan the passive-aggressive stuff? Perhaps you can make this point in a thread where the gloves are off?

Otherwise, you look like a cheap-shot artist.

Quote:Code of Conduct for the Introduction Section
This is a place for introductions and casual conversation. Trolling, flaming, insulting, condemning, proselytizing, trying to convert a person's beliefs (whether theist or atheist), or deliberately trying to start controversy in a person's introduction thread is prohibited. There are plenty of other places to do that on the forum. This is the warm and fuzzy part of the forum that is filled with rainbows and unicorns. We welcome people here. We don't try to run them off because you disagree and/or you're in a bad mood, slay your dragons elsewhere. So, smile and eat some cake! Welcome to TTA!

I once broke my leg and had to use crutches for a time afterwards, even when my leg was healed I felt better with the crutches if the walk was slippery from snow (Minnesota, January) But it was not a very long while before I found i didn't need any crutches at all. Same with the religion thing. Crippled people may need a fantasy to lean on in order to make it thru the day, but we are people who don't need that crutch. But welcome and we love you.

And thanks for saying I seem normal? It's funny, you're the third person on this forum to express surprise that I'm not an atheist lol, though i think the only one who welcomed me when I joined, who has done so. FWIW, we agree on far more than we disagree on.

Hooray! E-cookie! Yummy!

How do I make Death Cookie? Sounds fun.

Well, according to Jack Chick, you need a priest (who is Satanic, but not a member of the Satanic Temple), unleavened bread, and the intent to damn billions of souls rofl.

Morondog is right, I wasn't being passive aggressive. I was actually opening up some about my own fears as a Christian.

And now, I'll shut up, lest we make the mods crankier, since there was an official warning shot post.

Need to think of a witty signature.

RE: Peace
Welcome.

You have a lot to learn. You don't understand what atheism is and is not.

You also have a lot to unlearn, i.e. your presuppositions.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
