Peeple: a stupid idea for an app that literally no one wants
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-...to-or-not/

So this lady is so out of touch with reality that she has somehow convinced herself that this bizarre social experiment would actually be a success...
Quote:Where once you may have viewed a date or a teacher conference as a private encounter, Peeple transforms it into a radically public performance: Everything you do can be judged, publicized, recorded.

“That’s feedback for you!” Cordray enthuses. “You can really use it to your advantage.”
yeah umm no

Uh huh yeah, good luck with that....

If we came from dust, then why is there still dust?

And yet, there are people who voluntarily appear on Reality TV programs for instant stardom (at least 15 mins).

Though ... why anyone wants to watch any of it, is beyond me. Undecided

I was getting lunch at a KFC about 9 years ago and they had Jerry Springer on the tube. Damn. I only looked at it because I was in the restaurant. I took my food to go. Watching that stuff turned my stomach. How can people be so shameless? And stupid?!? I was out of town on travel for a few years for long stretches, many years ago. I watched some TV in those days. I watched some episodes of COPS. Man, that was depressing. No more of that crap. My wife watches some judge on TV. Just as disgusting. I don't remember the (female) judge's name. Wears really shiny red lipstick, and yells at people a lot. I can hear it over my music while I'm busy being a mouse potato. Hmmm, sounds like a first world problem.

Unless she builds in some type of special protections for herself, what's to stop every single person who uses the app from rating the creator one star immediately to make a point?

Everyone's a critic. Angry

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.
