Petition to ban Bishadi
I've been on internet forums for a long, long time. I've been on ones that are tightly moderated, and ones that are not moderated at all. I've learned how forums evolve, how internal forces and large personalities affect them. And I've learned a great deal about trolls.

Sometimes trolls can be a good thing. They can stimulate a community and bring its members closer together. Sometimes you can have benign trolls, that while irritating, actually do incite interesting discussions.

Other times trolls are a bad thing. They shift a large portion of the forum's focus onto themselves, then act like clowns. Then a game ensues. The troll walks the line between pissing off members and being banned, being just irritating enough to piss everyone off, while maintaining enough plausible deniability to claim to be a legitimate poster. Genuine discussions are disrupted, learning stops, and the forum decreases in quality.

Sometimes, even though you want to promote free speech, you still need to cull the herd. A sheep has a right to live out its days, but if it has scrapie you put it down anyway for the good of the herd. Do you want the forum to be a place of open discussion, or do you want it to be a troll's playground?

Bishadi needs to go. Post here if you agree.

E 2 = (mc 2)2 + (pc )2
614C → 714N + e + ̅νe
2 K(s) + 2 H2O(l) → 2 KOH(aq) + H2 (g) + 196 kJ/mol
It works, bitches.

A petition won't get anything done. Discussion amongst The forum team are ongoing.

It's a bad idea. We will lose our best drinking game.

RE: Petition to ban Bishadi
I'd say a petition would be a good way for the forum team to get a clear view of what the forum members want.

Pheadrus, would you mind adding a poll, just to make things a little easier?

FSM_scot, what plausible deniability keeps the forum tam from reaching a conclusion about banning Bishadi? (I need coffees)

Well, besides

What the drinking game isn't enough? Tongue
Nothing. Not all of the team have commented yet and we want more opinions and all options for dealing with him.
