Philosophy book recommendations
Looking for book recs. I am familiar with Aristotle, and have browsed Plato, Plutarch, Russell, Kant, and Nietzsche. I'm looking for books either in kindle or audible form, as i am rarely at home.

The chipster would be a good resource for this thread. Where is he when you need him?

You could take a course. It's free. Introduction to Philosophy

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Yeah that looks like a good general introduction.

What, no plastic bag videos? Tongue

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I am after some reading about the nature of infinity. More specifically, I am after any philosophy literature regarding our relationship with infinity as mortal beings that have a definite birth and death. Sorry, I know this is very specific.

I can recommend some by the English philosopher A.C Grayling. Such as;
The Meaning of Things: Applying Philosophy to life.
What is Good?: The Search for the Best Way to Live.
Liberty In The Age Of Terror.

Hi there, thoroughly recommend a book called 2082: The Chronicles Of Hope. It's about a visionary humanitarian politician, and though not directly a philosophy book it's a great fiction read and some of the takes on society's problems are original. Check out the first chapter for free on the website (i think thechroniclesofhope.com) - there's a chapter on there on religion/atheism that's genius

Try Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder. Though it's basically fiction, there's a lot of good facts in it too, and you get a good perspective on philosophy from it's cradle to the late 90's.
