Yup, Nathan Phelps. Lives in Canada and is part of a freethinker's organization there. There is also a Phelps Daughter, I believe, who has also escaped the cult.

Now.

I like the way vice.com phrased it:

"It's not unlike the Mormon practice of baptizing the dead, only much gayer."

It's definitely offensive, but it's meant to be. The important thing is that religion set the precedent, so while I wouldn't personally go this route, I think it's a legitate response.

Satanists are just playing WBC's game and once WBC stops protesting funerals, the Church of Satan will stop turning dead fundies gay.

Facepalm

"I feel as though the camera is almost a kind of voyeur in Mr. Beans life, and you just watch this bizarre man going about his life in the way that he wants to."

-Rowan Atkinson

They deserve it, They have disrespected countless dead people and will forever and always until their church falls away to nothing.

The only type of "life after death" that I accept are the memories that people leave behind after they have died. This is how loved ones live on. Again, I totally understand why those people are doing what they did. As a veteran and a decent human being, it makes my blood boil when I see the WBC assholes picketing military funerals. It's just I personally would never do anything to disrespect the dead in retaliation.

I recently saw a great outdoor production of Hamlet in a city graveyard. It was a nighttime performance. The actors weren't doing anything like sitting on headstones or stepping on graves or anything like that. Would you consider that to be disrespectful of the dead? Just curious.

No, just disrespectful of Shakespeare. Drinking Beverage
