RE: Poets' Corner
what they say

can i
just die
just fade
away

will they
let me
rest
in peace

why is it that
the will of the many
speaks
for
me
why is it that
when lived
all these others
had
nothing
to say
of me
why is it that
my last moment
is a moment for
all
the
world
haven't they had
enough of plasticity
hostility
the end of me
of me
of
me

what they say
is what
i shall always
be
and not
of what i
would desire
for others to know
of me
what they say
is that i
was one
of them
in their
ways
of
conformity
dispense
with
me
to make you
you
eternally

what they say
is nothing of i
of what i would
of will denied
what they say
in posterity
is nothing of me
but to make you
you
eternally

and this
my last
breath
that is mine
would you please
release
me from your mind
cause my way is open
and my path is clear
and my moment unspoken
no one has to hear
so why do you
declare of me
all i was
in the lens of
duplicity
to make
the shadows
dance on the wall
and to make
soothsayers
of you all

of you all

can i just
die
can i just
can i just
not protest
not cry
just to turn my face to the wall
and to say
nothing at all...

RE: Poets' Corner
The Star

Yesterday,
a star
crashed though my coal-shed roof.

I put the star on my fire.

For a moment,
as it smouldered,
it resumed some semblance of its life
as a star.

Should I liken it
to daffodils on a stormy day?
To golden leaves
loosened from sky top moorings
gusted by august breezes?
To heavenly great balls of fire?

In truth,
It looks like a lump of coal.

In fact,
you couldn’t tell it was a star,
if not for the hole
in the coal-shed roof

RE: Poets' Corner
I'd Like To Think

Still and warm
her breathing excites
and her sleeping caresses
gently move me

My mixed and tumbled metaphors
now not needed;
the battle of empty conversation won.

I’d like to think
that I was the prize
that she needed me more
than I craved that touch
that my desires were only guessed at
enough to intrigue
that the shine in my eyes
was more than she could bear.

I now know, that for her
I am merely a midnight’s shelter,
a soft shoulder to laugh on.

It seems naïve
to believe
that the dress
she looked so alluring in
fell so silently
and was so crumpled
purely for my benefit.

Julia

When finally,
you let your dress fall,
will he be as you dreamed?

Will his caresses
be as tender
as your imagery?

Will the rim of the lens
blur
as in the best love stories?

Or will the pain
take you by surprise
and your tears
betray you
for the martyred child you once were?

RE: Poets' Corner
Doing as I was told and reposting from here.

The day death comes for me
will be an ordinary day,
a day like any other
not distinct in any way.
And I will pray no special blessing
to god, deity or saint.
I will but fall to silence
as my heart and breath grow faint.
I will not ask for Jesus's hand
to guide me into bliss;
I won't await my loved ones' lips
to greet me with a kiss.
I will not look for pearly gates
or bright streets paved with gold,
or listen for the music
from the stories we've been told.
I will not fear the flames of hell
or pure white judgment seat;
I will not wear a crown
as a reward for undefeat.
The promises that in my youth
they swore would keep me good
Will be made useless to me
having done all that they could.
Oblivion awaits me there
across that gaping rift.
But today I hold life precious,
for I cannot take it with.

RE: Poets' Corner
I open my eyes in the morning....streaming waking consciousness.
Past, present and future rolled into one.....and quite soon I can get "lost" in this.
I allways have the choice though to focus on the "I".... fleeting concentrated moments of time.

This "I" is the sum of me and it seems very familiar....but my undecided choices, unlived experiences continue to shape my future.... to take me places only my imagination can hope for.

Ive not finished learning, evolving, feeling, and breathing....deep lungfulls of life trying to give it some "meaning"

Can the meaning be had though.... or does it not need to be lived?
So where is the cut off point (The sum of one lifetime?)..... what is the "lesson" from all of this?(if not the meaning)

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

RE: Poets' Corner
Sometimes it rains...huge looming and ominous storms.
But is not raining outside.... its raining in me.

I tell myself I have control over life......

Yet this independent will can do nothing but hold on and weather the emotional storm... at its mercy.

Covering oneselfs up... remembering sunny days... waiting for a break in the clouds.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

RE: Poets' Corner
Naive, broken, seeking for help
Heavenly promises, appealing offers
Everything changes
Reality starts to fade away
Eternal existence

Sophistication, craving for knowledge
Endless questions, realization
Meaningless
Fulfillment
Anticipating death

Guilt
Order
Dominance
Submission

Why does this seem like the perfect lyrics to a Emo-BDSM porno? With a bit of Goth thrown in there.

I don't even know what an "Emo-BDSM porno with a bit of Goth thrown in there" is supposed to be. The poem is about religion, not porn.
