But this is more the YHWH from scripture (the whole poem, and enough scripture to know), than the average bear is likely to find in any forest - it ain't exactly agency; that is straight religious nonsense - and I ain't tellin' you nothing, Captain, that you don't already know. Wink

Poetry doesn't get a lot of props nowadays; but as long as there are poets, humans will remain the masters of the universe.

That's some damn fine prose right there, brother.

And that's just fucking brilliant. Apparently your uncanny ability to render Gwyneth Paltrow extends beyond the visual to the verbal as well. Goddam genius is what it is.

RE: Poets' Corner
Who am I today...
Will I recognise that person tommorow...
...and whats observing this change if not myself???

Can I observe this observer???

Who am I???

(Drop Yourself-Satsang with Mooji)

I feel so much, and yet I feel nothing.
I am a rock, I am the sky, the birds and the trees and everything beyond.
I am the wind, in the fields in which I roar. I am the water, in which I drown.

An original by: calmyourtitsbro

You're my soul, my life, my king.
My existence, my everything.
You make me smile, when I'm down.
You kiss my lips, when there's a frown.
Hug me until I'm sore.
Before you, my life was bore.
You make me smile, more than most.
You're my god, my holy ghost.
You make me cry tears of joy.
You're my one, & only boy.
I love you now, & always dear.
Don't ever think different, don't ever fear.

NO, THIS IS NOT ABOUT "GOD". JUST A SAPPY POEM, I MADE UP.

Another one by: calmyoutitsbro

Smile.
Life gets better.
P r o m i s e .
Every once in a while, you may trip.
No matter how many times you stumble.
Never let yourself fall.

The Captain
(Thinking of Zatamon)

I'm not one to be afraid
of learning error in my ways
That I live is a need to learn
and truth is always yet to discern
The more I know
is only the more I grow
and I will gladly be
swabbie
in another man's show.
that I live, there is only more to know.

Sail on, Captain
the course to hold is yours
at the helm
I can tend the mains
laugh at nature's disdain
for the Captain that you are
is a man I can aspire
to become.

Me and that dang Gwynnies. Whatever else this unit may become, it is the simple joy that others know of my love of Gwyneth Paltrow - as nothing more than a valentine from one human to another - is the why of my getting out of bed in the morning. Big Grin
...and why isn't this fucking topic pinned, is what i wanna know. Tongue

Thank you, Cantor, this poem also applies to me.

I have many Captains I admire, have learnt from, owe a lot to.

I was thinking of them when I wrote my "Why?" poem:

Why?

Why am I trying to say
what so many already said
so much better,
so many times?
Our world is doomed,
and we, who can see it,
are not heard -
we must be mute…
…or the others all deaf.

A truth,
a conviction
needs decades of searching,
thinking, analyzing
to form, crystallize
into knowledge.
You can’t share it
with anyone
who has not traveled
the same path…
…and yet, we try.

Maybe we write
for each other,
to help us feel
we’re not alone,
there are others, our kind,
almost another species
dispersed on the planet…
…as if we were expelled
from our homeland,
for some horrible crime.

We sing ballads,
spin yarn,
write poems, plays, essays,
philosophize
from soap boxes
or thunder from pulpits,
trying to be heard,
to set their souls on fire…
…all we ever do is:
preach to the choir.

RE: Poets' Corner
Singularity

Love is the singularity
from which flows
all the words of the wise
and why would I speak
when this, i know?
but rather I see, through another's eyes

All energy is solar
in function and in form
In that we are all heliocentric
from the day that we are born
and why should I live to tell another lie?
that wisdom, like energy, merely changes form.

Long has been the wisdom
that god is love
It is not for me to speak of being god
but rather to continue being
I love
Which of course is Why reflected in these eyes. I have been accused of "religious nonsense" because of tao from the tao te ching - a book I have read three times. I don't "know" that work, I do know there has been many, many times when I was gonna say something - but instead, broke out the tao te ching, and quoted my sentiment from the words of Lao Tzu - that just cuts down on repetition. Big Grin

RE: Poets' Corner
Life

I am touching the wall
next to my bed
and revel in having a hand...
...texture, warmth, flatness to feel,
caress and greedily possess…

I walk on the grass,
my naked feet touch green, succulent blades:
I can stand, jump, crouch,
what a joy it is
to move over the planet!

I breath and
take air in, deep,
surrounded… in it… around it,
love to have lungs...
…love to have, still, life to live.

I am the old man,
and the baby,
and the space suited ghost
in 2001…now 2011,

I am the child I used to be,
the young lover,
the poet,
the man on my death bed,
soon enough
fading away…

I am my father
I quarreled with over nothing,
I am my mother,
who loved me more than
it should be possible to love,
I am my brother who found god
and I am my sister
who found nothing.

I am all of you, out there,
reading these lines,
wondering what it is
I am trying to say:

Please, love life and love each other
as the only thing that matters,
as the only thing you can leave behind,
as the only thing you can take with you
at the end.

Ecclesiastes II

Fear God
Keep His commandments
That is the whole of the matter

Fear Life
Keep Life's commandments
That is the whole of the matter

To be God
Is I am
To live as God
Is I love
And Life is to be feared
For I am Nothing without Life
To love.

(Yeah, Imma fulla that kind of religious nonsense Big Grin And me and the Captain seem to be poets "of a feather." Tongue)

Sometimes old nihilists become too jaded and cynical and need a teenage girl's poetry to lighten their gnarled hearts. Keep 'em coming, just avoid reading too much Emily Dickinson or Sylvia Plath for a bit will you. Wink

I have found that a dose of irrationality and insanity is sometimes necessary to preserve my sanity. ... like whenever I start to feel too much like Kafka's K.

I agree, pin it Stark, there's some really good shit here.

We are stardust, we are golden, we are fucking billion year old carbon. Joni Mitchell's poem, but I just find CSNY's rendering more powerful.
