RE: Poets' Corner (Serious Poems)
Channeling Zat

what of us
we that come here to bleed freely across the empty page
why must the world
be your stage
have we no place
to lie
to lie in the lines of the page
why should not the world
share in my rage
you beautiful impostor
have you nothing of your own to give
or is it to you
the metal that defines the sieve

what of us
we that come here to wail
to rail against the rails of the cage
a cold cruel world's domain
what of us
for us all the same

living word

Peanut Butter And Jelly, By Brian37(AKA Brian James Rational Poet on FB and @Brianrrs37 on twitter)

Please understand

I do agree

That with the East

There is a PR problem

Saudi Arabia and Iran

Are not exactly bastions

Of political or religious

Freedom

And they too

Are willing take up arms

Willing do die

For what they believe

I find it hard

While pointing

In the right direction

A mirror you lack

I guess it is ok

If in killing the other

It is done in the name

Of the right book

Even locally

You fear change

Willing to kill

To protect a gun

As if it were living

Just like Isis

Murders over criticism

Of their prized possession

As if a gun

Were an unborn child

As if it were Mohammed

Or even Jesus

This is no sandwich

To be admired

Worship of old books

Or tools of death

Dont talk about peace

And be willing to kill

Over old books or objects

Vile peanut butter and jelly
(end)

Physics

Optics -- permits me to see
this world of color surrounding me.
It's information that's drowning me --
the correlation to sound is easy to see.
Photons in motion show me my place,
your face, this entire ratrace,
the good and the bad, the light and the shade,
a kaleidoscope that is bound to fade.

Gravity -- it pulls me down,
keeps me rooted to the ground.
It can't be touched, can't be seen
but you can even feel it in your dreams
and when you think you're walking tall
it's gravity that pulls you to your fall.

Electricity carries the charge
a neon shadow looming large.
It powers thoughts and ships and microchips,
makes the sounds that make me wanna
move my hips
and tingles the air between you and me --
it makes life possible, possibly.

Magnetics -- it grabs your steel, and
you feel drawn, a pawn to forces you can't fight.
Right. Opposites attract, you learn
on contact--
the negative wants positivity.

Friction -- it heats us up,
it grinds us down -- frown --
it slows us when when can't afford to stop
can't hop
soon my top is gonna blow right off
'cause I'm dragging and lagging and
I ain't bragging but it's not a thing
that I do well, going slow --
I normally run like hell.

RE: Poets' Corner (Serious Poems)
"Pancakes and Bacon"

Pinot Noir and charcoal smudges
Overworked art, curling pages
Flames encroached upon their holders
Gave light, life, precious time
Smothered smotherer. Who smothered whom?
Guilty
I can't breathe.

I'm a mess again
Undisturbed place setting
Untouched party of one
You'll never hold me again.

Gravel drive, car door shut
You came home.
You took me in your kitchen
Blueberry pancakes, bacon.
Beams, exposed wood
Feared heights, climbed
I came alive.

Conception, misconcepted
Breaking, taking, shaking, faking
Loving, fronting, missing nothing.
Never asked enough
Still asked too much.
Always the rule
Never excepted.

"If there's a single thing that life teaches us, it's that wishing doesn't make it so." - Lev Grossman

Winter Solstice
by Heatheness 2015

In the gloaming, quiet wakens
Lunar pearl climbs the sky
'Tis the solstice of the sleeping
Winter whispers a sleepy sigh.

Drowning

I just need
just need one
one breath is all I need

shut my eyes
on the shore
we're dancing in the sun

my heart cries
it's not real
asphyxiation

I just need
just need one
one breath is all I need

hold them up
silently
can never let them know

in too deep
water's cold
can never let them go

I just need
just need one
one breath is all I need

murky depths
blurry light
fair maiden of the sea

touch my lips
emphemoral
one breath you give to me

just one more
just need one
one breath is all I need

I just wanted to let you know that I love you even though you aren't naked right now. Heart

RE: Poets' Corner (Serious Poems)
Untitled white poem by Adam Przechrzta:

silence the cyrograph for me
and around your silence I will braid
with nerve and sense
with sleep
I only ask, ask
dream my sin

feel for a flicker
for moment of heart silence
between
word

don't separate heaven from earth
for it will be
taken

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Mikhail Bakunin.

Beauty Lies (Heatheness)

Beauty lies.
Smooth lines
Curves delight
One cannot find
Perfection
but in a dream

Beauty is truth
It's trust and tears
Dimpled, scarred
Raw and fierce
Defensive yet giving
Ripples of desire

Beauty is deep
Both light and dark
In the heart and mind
The body is a shell
Crack it open
Beauty lies within.

Rainy Mornings (Heatheness)

rainy morning
two sleepyheads
snuggling up
to stay in bed
gently touching
breast and thigh
sweet caress
I softly sigh
a kiss inviting
your whispered plea
my thoughts delighting
passions agree
