Focus

Report about a gynaecologist in a german clinic near the polish border. He reports 20-25 polish women coming to his clinic alone per week to get an abortion (well, actually to consult him about an abortion).

He describes the rules and situation in Poland regarding abortion in general as "medieval".

It is medieval. Also number of illegal abortion is estimated from 10 000 to 150 000 cases a year.

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Szuchow will probably know the details, but far as I know, abortion is only allowed in case of rape or danger to the mother in Poland. Possibly the strictest anti abortion laws inside the EU. And they even want to abolish these small opportunities - so that a woman has to give birth to their rapists child, if they had their way.

Abortion in Poland is illegal except in cases of when pregnancy is result of crime, when the woman's life is in jeopardy, or if the fetus is irreparably damaged. But that's only theory - in practice doctors can claim that their conscience don't allow them such or some other shit which considering size of abortion underground in Poland is laughable.

Gov is trying to do what it can to limit reproductive rights of women - now day after pill is again available only on prescription.
