Ah, I see. Thanks.

I was really trying to point out that these behaviors disrupt forums (fora?), whether they're used on purpose or not. So, sidetracking conversation and in general being a dick is disruptive, whether it's done intentionally by a troll/spy, or thoughtlessly by a regular member.

Guess I wasn't very clear to start with. Ah well. Confused

Yeah... I mean, the behaviours you outlined in the OP... I could see them working, but that would mean someone would have to *care* enough to do all that work in such a way as not to be detected... and if he's that sad of a person... he probably needs the therapy Tongue

Although, this being an atheist forum I suppose if we managed to piss off some bunch of Christees somewhere there do exist those who are sufficiently lunatic fringe to try and pull something like that off...

Oh, just your typical market-abolishing, socialist-reading, TV-protesting, government-mistrusting, government employee.

I haven't even read 1/3 of this thread but I gotta say this right now:

ME TOO!

I seemed to have missed the point of the OP.

See here they are, the bruises, some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Quote:Topic dilution is not only effective in forum sliding it is also very useful in keeping the forum readers on unrelated and non-productive issues. This is a critical and useful technique to cause a 'RESOURCE BURN.' By implementing continual and non-related postings that distract and disrupt (trolling ) the forum readers they are more effectively stopped from anything of any real productivity.

Floppy penis.

The forum is now under my control. Evil_monster

I disagree, sidetracking conversations is the standard operating procedure on TTA. The soupy, mucky disorder is where we bond as a community. Heart

The two just seem like they'd cancel out.

I'll quit as soon as I can insure my family and earn a decent living in an equally secure position. Or at retirement, which will probably happen first.

They'll fire me... never. Seriously. Edited to remove crap it was none of my business to share. As long as we pay our taxes, don't violate campaign finance laws, and don't go postal, we can pretty much stay forever. With benefits.
