Pope's visit
Subsequent to the pope's visit to America, I have this observation, based on my local paper's reporting. The pope told the American public that we should "share the wealth". Insulting to anyone with a brain. I'll support the RCC's request to "share the wealth" right after the last gold plated trinket and fabulous painting on its walls has been sold to finance said "sharing". I give to charitable causes like Kiva already, but the pope's statement kind of chaps my hide, based on the hypocrisy factor. How do you read that statement by the pope?

RE: Pope's visit
It's probably directed toward the money-centric consumerist society we have in America. I say it's called capitalism and it works, and if you have the money to give to charities, you should, and maybe you even have a social responsibility to. I agree the vatican is a batshit insane place with way too much money (not to mention financial fraud).

When the church complains about greed it is never talking about itself.

This Pope specialises in platitudes; saying things that sounds good and make him and his racquet racket look good, but are really not all that meaningful.

'Share the wealth', says the man sitting on billions of real-estate he wont use effectively.
'create employment and restore dignitity to labour' says the man who owns a kingdom dedicated to not making more jobs.

And on, and on it goes. He was installed for a reason, and I bet it's not divine, anything but.

The people closely associated with the namesake of female canines are suffering from a nondescript form of lunacy.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

It's just saying what - some - people want to hear.

If I remember right pope spoken about economy earlier so this comment could be directed more toward gov rather than ordinary people. But I would say that this is nothing more than empty words spoken to show church in good light.
