Pray for me
Me and my husband just ordered some books to prepare for the backlash that will come with telling our families that we are nonbelievers. Ha, it's funny though bc I still have some Christian habits, so the tiny Christian in me wants to tell you to pray for me. Rolleyes

Sure, why not, I'll say a little prayer for you. It's the sentiment that matters, irrespective of the fact that the effort is feckless and ineffectual. Good luck, WallFlower, but I'm thinking you'll be fine. Big Grin

And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

RE: Pray for me
What approach are you going to take for this 'revelation'?

Apologetic?
Humble?
Humbly assertive?
Assertive?
In-yer-face bitches?

Don't forget to report back after the carnage.

Good luck with it.

Where the fuck's declarative? It's dispassionate, unemotional, and unprovocative. That's what Girly did some 35 years ago now at the ripe old age of 15, "Mom, I just don't see how a postmortem preservation of identity is even imaginable, let alone having a a plausible mechanism of action, let alone even being tenable." Your list is incomplete. Tongue ... Mom still prays for my sorry ass.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

So you are saying that your approach made no difference?

Don't listen to us LadyWF, I'm sure you know what approach will be best for all concerned.

Yup, that's what I'm saying. Mom was always praying for my sorry ass before my declaration, now she's just changed what she's praying for me. ... No practical difference. ... Don't misunderstand me and my Mom, we are good with respect to our individual metaphysics. We're good with the differences. ... She's my mum and I'm her boy, that's all that really matters.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Ha, yeah I guess so! I just thought I'd let some of my fellow forum members know that I decided to "come clean". In one of my other threads I stated how I was gonna be a secret atheist for a while, the replies were very encouraging and all agreed that I should be truthful, so I concluded that they were probably right.
