Praying for the mentally ill
This is sort of a two fold comment and could be moved to the science forum if necessary.

Rick Warren's son committed suicide two months ago. Not sure if it's true but I read that the son was gay. Along with medication and therapy Warren had prayed for his son.

Scientists are in the process of mapping the brain, similar to the genome project, this will most likely do more for mental illness than any prayer would ever do. Those damned scientists, they're at it again, finding ways to better the health of humanity.
