"Profound" statements - which one do you hate?
A pet peeve of mine is when people use sayings that are meant to sound profound, but really aren't.

My most hated statement is, "I'm just taking it one day at a time."

Yeah, you wanna know who else is taking it one day at a time? Everyone. Because thats how time works.

or, "it is what it is" Of course it is! Because if it isn't what it is, than it wouldn't be what it is!!! Arg!!!

What phrase do you use or what phrase do you hate when others use?

A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day - Bill Watterson

Lol. I also think those are annoying.
This isn't profound but I also hate when people tell me they found something in the last place they looked. Well, I am glad you had the sense to stop looking once you found it!

I hate the phrase ... At the end of the day. Smile

A man blames his bad childhood on leprechauns. He claims they don't exist, but yet still says without a doubt that they stole all his money and then killed his parents. That's why he became Leprechaun-Man

Everything happens for a reason.

I'm not anti-social. I'm pro-solitude. Sleepy

"That's a whole 'nuther thing."
Weeping

I hate it when people in a bad mood say :
"Life's a bitch and then you die" ... as though it contained some sort of profound revelation.

"Life's a bitch and then you die, so fuck the world and let's get high"

Absolute most popular thing people said when I was in middle school. At the end of the day people are going to say this crap even though it's annoying. It is what it is though. I try to take it one annoying cliché at a time. Everything everything happens for a reason you know, even the annoying stuff.
