"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Makes my skin crawl.

"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story." Orson Welles

When life gives you lemons, you sacrifice a non-believer. The DemonicLemon must be pleased.

I used to like "everything happens for a reason", but I understood it completely differently. I saw the "reason" part as a consequence of one's (and/or other people's) actions that cause something to happen. I had no idea that it had any relation to god(s) or religion, but after I found out, I'm now hating that quote. Tongue

"Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. We long to return, and we can, because the cosmos is also within us. We're made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself." (Carl Sagan)

"There's always someone worse off."

Because if your life doesn't suck in literally every aspect, you're not allowed to have problems.

Rose the pedant here says that the saying goes:

The proof of the pudding is in the eating

Makes much more sense but is no less annoying.

The phrase "As useless as nipples on a breast plate" is used way too often in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books. Dodgy

Not profound in any way but this message now gets the sender blocked:

"h r u"

Case closed, no appeal.

Why would I want to chat to someone who is that fucking lazy?

I used to hate that until I caught my Gwynnies saying it. I'm such a tool. Weeping
