RE: Prog thread
Reading this entire thread beforehand, I'm not sure if my taste in prog mixes well here, but aaaaaany Contortionist, Karnivool, or Corelia fans in here?

Just a handful of favorites here! Big Grin

Thanks. Never heard of them but I enjoyed the first two. Third one, not at all.

I might even check out Karnivool when I'm next in Perth.

Cheers.

RE: Prog thread
A blast from my youth. IQ, back on the road apparently. Little known prog band which surfaced after Marillion. Not a great time for prog'. Even Yes was playing pop music then.

Fjieri with Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree on drums. Great player. He is also on a Kompendium track I posted recently.

RE: Prog thread
To revive this thread, I'd like to add some more prog I listen to a lot. It's all more on the extreme metal side including screamed and growled vocals, though I saw Death and Opeth mentioned, soo...

Vintersorg(SE) did some prog metal albums before returning to folk metal. To his fans in the inner circle(i.e. me) they're referred to as the 'mad scientist' phase:
I love the detuned western piano in this and crazy ramble in this one.

And then I like Ihsahn and Emperor:

I also enjoy the less metally prog like King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Haken, Yes etc.
