Project "improve your living room" finished
Recently i decided to improve my living room a bit, particularly the walls. Since just buying nice pictures and framing them is for normal people, i decided to go for something else, not because its easy, but because its hard Big Grin

I proudly present the result, or should i say 3000 results Cool

That's awesome. I bet that sky was a real bitch to do.

Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

That's great. Are you going to frame it? Also, is that a battle scene? Looks like one of the ships is on fire.

A little off topic but when I was a teen I used to spend hours making model ships from the kits you buy and put together and I'd decorate my room with them.

Looks like a hardship to put together. Hope it didn't take up too much of your spar time and is well glued, or it could come to an unfitting end.

The Bombardment of Algiers 27 August 1816, by George Chambers Snr., with the Impregnable on the right and the Minden in the left middle distance.

The rendering of the jigsaw made me think firstly of JMW Turner. BTW, I congratulate you on your perseverance with 3,000 pieces! How long?

Yeah, thats what i thought too...before i started. Laugh out load

actually the ships on the left, dark sails, dark masts, smoke, etc., that was the real bich (along with the right most 10% of the pic, right hand of the big mast of the big ship, because that part wasnt on the carton Facepalm containing the pices). Because of the huge number of parts, the area of the pic covered by each part is really small. So when you have a look at a single piece with various shades of grey/black/green/dirt its hard to tell what it is, everything jus tlooks cluttered. The sky was easier in terms of simply going by the shape of parts (and abit by smooth transition of colour from white to blue), since each part has a distinct shape (sign of a high quality puzzle. Lower qualities often have only a set of 6 different parts, which makes uniform areas of a pic a real nightmare to do.)
