He wants your money...

Not his god. Apparently his god just wants me to lay down under a fucking tree for the rest of my life. Rolleyes

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

So it's a *personal* revelation. I've tried it and found no God.

Quote:The atheistic response to the creation of the universe is usually a quick explanation of the Big Bang, maybe something about a Higgs-Boson particle. While that is probably true, why did that start? Where did the laws of motion and gravity come from? What about all those other universes that are probably real?
Don't know.

Quote:Someone, or Something, intelligent beyond our imagination is the only logical conclusion I can think of. Call him a teapot or whatever, I don't care. What matters is that the evidence points to a transcendental spirit greater than man that is and yet is not the Universe created it out of benevolent will.
Present your evidence. If it's meditation then... yeah, you can't assert a truth to something which is just your personal experience - how do you know your brain isn't throwing up false positives ?

I've often wondered about the neurology of a theist (deist polytheist etc.) and an atheist. Which one of us is crazy? Well, personally I'd prefer that if anyone was crazy it would be me. So yeah. You're right. It's ineffable, so how can I try to explain?

RE: Q&A with The_Thinking_Theist
You keep saying stuff like ineffable but... by definition that means unknowable.

So AFAICT you're either saying "I have knowledge but I don't know where it comes from", or "That which I speak about (God) is even in principle unknowable". Either of which is not a convincing argument for *me*.

Basically it sounds very much like a complicated way of saying "I'm just asserting this".

Whaddya want me to do ? Go post in the masturbation thread ?

I'm engaging in spiritual warfare to destr-er-*save* the man's soul, obviously.

By which I mean that this boy is intelligent and can understand an argument, which is a refreshing change... What I want to see is... how far can I push...
