But DLJ loves the crack. He's always got his arse half out his trousers! It's British military tradition Tongue

Agreed, Americans are fat enough as it is. No need to overeat.

I would not want to go back and sound like we are back in the stone-age!

Now do we have a new set of holidays to play with!

Darwin day! Would be a given! But on what day??
Isaac Newton day. That's OK we would keep Christmas and I can have my two week winter brake intact!
However, to keep my gay friends happy we could have Quentin Crisp day on the odd years and Isaac on the even years! :-)

14 March Albert Einstein Not quite St Patrick's day but close to it!

So can you put in some other date and we can have time off work!
I will not except the new calendar until I know I am not loosing a day off!

So let me ask a simple question before I go off on a complete tangent?
Do we still keep the May and the Decembers as they are and the number of days remain the same! Or are we going to kill of all the old gods in the months?

K:

These are fair points, my long lost cousin.

Personally I have no qualm with the old folklore and myths ... they are part of our heritage and indeed helped to formulate the many questions that science has answered and is still answering.

I cannot help you with pin-pointing the enforced absences from your duty of toil as I, for at least the last five years, have not personally benefited from any of these and have very little idea when they occur.

But celebrating similar instances of seminal cerebral epiphanies would, I sanction, be suitable sojourns.

So go ahead and suggest candidate discoveries.

How about Rainbow Day ... not just for the LGBT community but as a nod towards the denotation of the Noah myth, recognising the contribution by Averroes and Theodoric of Freiberg.

Inflation Day?
Black Hole Day?
Double Slit Day?

No, no, no, DLJ evidently stumbled on to something here. Being a Brit, he did so purely by chance, as the plucky little Brit in all the movies usually does.

We all love a good baby sandwich now and again, not to mention baby BBQ. Drooling

How else do we keep a fresh supply going? Mail order? Common thievery? We do have standards after all. Drinking Beverage

I for one am an avowed Newtonian. None of this Darwinist johnny come lately timekeeping for me.

You just have to customise the code to show Newton's publication dates for me, Darwin's for DLJ, and Seth's birthday by default for new users.

Simple, right?
(no, anything involving dates and computers is hard.)

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.
