RIP Gregg Allman
Gregg Allman died today at age 69. I liked The Allman Brothers Band and his solo work. Saw the band in concert around 1999 or 2000 (edit -oops 1990 or 1991 - I'm old the decades blend together) in Charlotte. That night Greg was mostly playing the piano. I remember he kept squeezing slices of lemon into his mouth (we had front row seats) to help with the raspy quality of his voice.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite song but this one may be it.

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Damn!

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

I heard on the news he was married six times, which is unusual.

RE: RIP Gregg Allman
The Allmans have always been one of my favorite bands, especially at their peak in the late 60s/early 70s, and again in the 90s and after. I was mostly into them for the guitars, but Gregg was a hell of a singer as well. He will be missed.
