Radiometric dating
Ok so my friend and I have been going through some stuff he is a christian btw and and was looking at this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hum...on_fossils and I said if they can prove the dating on these then that simply disproves everything he then said

I believe they most likely used the radioactive dating to date those
radioactive dating works for about 2000 years. After that, it starts to becoming messed up.

Thoughts?

Well, this is when you point him to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiometric_dating and tell him that there are many different methods to date something, and usually a combination of the methods listed is used. All the methods usually give the same result. Also depends on the half-life of the element dated though Smile

Yes while this is funny I don't think it would go over very well if I told him that.

RE: Radiometric dating
Many creationists seem to believe carbon dating is the only method of radiometric dating. It makes the rest of the periodic table sad.
