Raised as an atheist, went all the way, back on the market-place again
Hi,

I was raised as an atheist/existentialist. Then, after I had some serious woo-woo experiences, I did engage in certain means and methods to get where I needed to be. It kinda worked out and now I'm an atheist again. I'm back on the market-place, drinking wine, smoking biddhis, using lip-stick and polishing my finger-nails, etc.

Although I'm not sure if calling myself an atheist is correct and actually accurat. Sometimes I'm more of an anti-theist and sometimes I admit I believe in something "higher" than myself that can be named with one word, which unfortunately has become a dirty word, so I don't mention it here, but it starts with an L.

One of my favourite topics is about the (unhealthy) implications the (global) capitalistic economical system has on the well-being of humanity, animals and nature. But I'm not a communist or a socialist. More a social democrat.

Confession: I've been banned from the Sam Harris forum lately for reasons I'm not told by the admins. But I think it was because I posted too many posts in a too short period of time, including some sort of a story that ended up in the recyle-bin.

I've also been banned from a forum called spiritualteachers.org a few times. I guess it was because I'm not compatible with....what ever it is they deal in over there.

Some of my favourite atheists are Eddy Izzard, Louis C.K, Maria Bamford and Ricky Gervais. And one of my favourite theists (currantely) is Jordan B. Petersen. And one of my all-time favourite stand-up philosophers is Bill Hicks.

I'm looking forward to interesting and heated discussions with all those who are not merely frustrated and boring whiners.

Welcome.

Also not a communist? If you're atheist then you're communist by definition Wink

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Welcome to the forum Smile

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

No-no-no-no!

Atheists are god's holy crowd. Communists are god's farts. As far is I'm informed. But who am I anyway.
