Raising the alarm in Flirida: Religious nuts threaten to destroy secularism
For many years Florida (despite having the Northern half entrenched in the Bible Belt) has been relatively free from the grip of religious nuts. But that is threatening to end this year. Already the Florida Legislature passed a bill which encourages students to preach and indoctrinate to their fellow students in the classrooms, and now Amendment 8 will be on the ballot this fall.

If you are an atheist, agnostic, or free thinker in Florida, vote against Amendment 8 when you get your ballot. Amendment 8 will amend the Florida Constitution to allow the state to fund religious programs and religious organizations. Until now, Florida's constitution prohibits the state from providing any funding to programs that receive religious backing, or are closely intertwined with churches.

If we don't stop this, our state will progress backwards and we will become just another typical southern Bible Belt state.

If you are not in Florida, but know anyone who is a resident of Florida and registered to vote there, please pass the word.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that against the constitution of the U.S.?
