It would be nice to have some sort of baseline.

That would be like creamy peanut butter, but then there would be the splinter groups who would fight over whether it was hydrogenated or not. Then the almond butter and cashew butter and walnut butter, etc., groups would agitate for equal rights. People are really no better than the nuts who lead them into trouble. Dodgy

RE: Random thoughts
Sociological pondering of the morning: How many people had some sort of course at their church with an apologetic slant towards "Sure, we'll tell you all about these other faiths, and how they're wrong." I know that my own Baptist church when younger had "Religions to Beware Of", and when sometimes reading conversion and deconversion stories be it to other faiths or no faith at all, these sorts of 'courses' seem to be rather prevalent in later being a cornerstone of disenchantment with that faith.

Edited to add appropriate musical accompaniment to the the random thought:

And what would the control group be for 'normal' if you found it? Tongue

Need to think of a witty signature.

Well, thanks for the notification, Apple but uh ... I fail to see why it's of the utmost importance that I update my burp & fart piano. Dodgy

Getting nailed to shit for pissing off the Romans was the old normal? I prefer the new normal.

Not in my yard.

I just bought a new 12 gauge.

Bit of overkill there, mate. A .177 air rifle does the job.

Unless they can really "fly"- that is glide- far enough, the squirrels can't get to our bird feeder. That guy's back yard is too small, and the feeder is too close to the hand rail. If he really wanted the squirrels to leave the birdseed alone, he'd augment it with ground red chili pepper, like you get for your pizza. The birds can't taste it, but the squirrels sure can. And they DO NOT like it. Laugh out load

I don't think so.

But it depends which reinvention / aspect of the myth one latches on to.

Kant described the Jesus figure as a 'prototype' and Jung as a descending/ascending hero 'archetype'.

Similarly Mo is alluded to as "the perfect man" over here by adherents.

This implies something aspirational rather than a baseline of normality.

To sin is normal; to ascend divine.
