Hey, some of the richest people own more then just one type of business.
They just have it listed under a holding company or something so you think they only run 1 business.
Berkshire Hathaway for example is in everything from insurance to clothing and retail.

The actual act of running a business from a sideline perspective doesn't vary much from business to business. If I own a small cafe with a few employees I still need to pay taxes, I need to wages, I need to pay suppliers do the books etc.. etc.. If I'm running low on supplies I might need to phone suppliers for early deliveries etc.. etc..
If I was to own a night club instead it would be exactly the same just on a larger scale with perhaps more things to worry about such as getting a DJ if I don't have a full time one etc..

So when looking for a business my criteria is fairly simple. I'm looking for a business I believe to be in a profitable industry, a business that is large enough for me to not have to be just another member of staff but actually the boss. I don't want to be hands off, I just want to be just another staff member. I'd rather be in the office crunching numbers then out front making coffee. But I don't want to be an accountant, I want to also own the phone that gets the calls at 6am that we're out of coffee grinds.
So if that ideal business comes in the form of a night club or a commercial cleaning business it really doesn't bother me.

Good points, but it doesn't detract from my observation.

So because my cunt roommate left and took the wireless router with him, the two remaining girls decided to get unlimited internet.
So as a result guess who gets free unlimited internet?

You know what this means!!! No, not free unlimited porn... Free unlimited pirated movies and even better free unlimited pirated games. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

up to 80GBs worth of shit downloading right now and that's just games I can think of, wait till I start looking shit up and get reminded of shit I want.

Having a "let's learn an entire topic because I've missed 99% of lectures for this class all year and need to get 72% on this exam tomorrow to pass the whole course" day today.
Plus you know, if I fail this course they'll cut my student paycheck each week so...

RE: Ranting corner
Hey, what do people know about Hotels? Because I know nothing about the hotel industry.

I ask because I was just laying in bed thinking about ways to obtain lots of cash quickly (this is what I think about 99% of the time).
And I was thinking, Warren Buffet was able to become top3 richest people in the world because he started an insurance company. People paid him for a product he had not yet given them and so he had a massive surplus of cash which he was able to then invest further.

How this relates to hotels is, do people sell individual hotel rooms? like shares in rooms. So if I owned a hotel with same 100 rooms. And then I sold 50% share in each room (so hotel run like normal but for your 50% you get 50% revenue of that room). So then I was still generating income from the hotel (still own part shares in a room) BUT then I'd have a huge surplus of cash from the sales which I could then use for further future investments, perhaps another hotel, rinse and repeat.

The idea that in time I it would take me to have say 2 hotels with 100% in each, I could have say 5 hotels with 50% in each.

Even selling 100% of the room, you'd have to charge the new owner commission. Basically it would be a passive investment for them, they do nothing and get income as well as owning an increasing in value asset. And I'd get say 20% commission.

Pitty hotels are so fucking expensive...

They're not that expensive, but you have to buy 4 houses first, and that can add up, especially if no one lands on your property.

It was just a fucking apple man, we're sorry okay? Please stop the madness Laugh out load
