The electricity is out.

Half an oak tree came down into the orchard right onto the first row of trees.

This'll be fun to clean up. That's one for the workout thread. Big Grin

Oh no! That's a mess. Sad Is that a road beyond the fence? If so, I guess it's good that the tree didn't come down over the road.

It's not all good - had it come down in the road the town would clean it up.

On the other hand, it would have broken my fence.

Just about to start making dinner and the power goes out again. Facepalm

I have a generator, but it's now pitch black out so it's a giant PITA to get it connected and started and the breakers switched.

Maybe this is a bit of a first-world problem. Consider

No a first world problem would be you can't play xbox because the powers out.
Needing to go outside to switch on your generator but it's too dark out to see what the fuck you're doing is third world problem. That and malaria.

RE: Ranting corner
Pull up a chair, have a snack...today I want to rant about illness, or actually rant about the stupid responses from people who believe in magic offer me when I am sick. Even when they mean well I find it so very annoying and awful and Evil_monster

Annoying responses to illness includes people that blame the vicim by believing that illness is caused by negative thoughts, ( christian science and some fundie folk) that illness is illusion, that it is caused by demons and the devil, that it is caused by lack of prayer, that it is caused by sin, chakra flow, past life, astrology and witchcraft. I also hate the super healthy people that tell me that somehow taking enough vitamins and exercizing enough will somehow protect and prevent all illness, as if illness is caused by lack of trying and a moral failure. Time will eventually bite them in their ass too.
Yes, exercize, a healthy weight and a healhy diet are very important and helpful, and can postpone and possibly prevent some illness, sometimes people get sick from not taking care of themselves, but most of the time it is caused by bad genes, aging and biology. It is bullshit on a stick to tell people to believe in magic, and to blame the sick person for failing when they stay sick.

That was my rant...
now monty python and the knights:
Knights who say NI!
